Oliver Glass, who resigned as Dodge County attorney in March 2021 and later served time in federal prison for a cyberstalking incident involving his estranged wife’s boyfriend, was arrested July 6 after a Nebraska State Patrol trooper found him standing by his vehicle on U.S. Highway 77 near the Rosa Parks Way exit.

According to a court filing, the trooper stopped about 1:30 a.m. to assist Glass, who had a damaged tire, and noticed that he seemed to be impaired. Glass was arrested and taken to the Lancaster County Jail, where he later was tested and found to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.154, nearly twice the legal limit.

The arrest is Glass’ third for alleged DUI.

Glass pleaded no contest on Aug. 17, 2020, to a misdemeanor charge of DUI-Breathalyzer .08 or greater, first offense, and was sentenced to 15 months of probation and 60 days of driver’s license revocation.

On May 3, 2021, Glass was found guilty of second-offense misdemeanor DUI, and he was sentenced to two days in county jail, 18 months of probation and another 60-day revocation of his driver’s license.

The latest arrest has apparently complicated Glass’ attempt to get his law license reinstated.

He had been scheduled to have a hearing Wednesday in front of the State of Nebraska Judicial System Counsel for Discipline, but that hearing has now been canceled, said Kent Frobish, assistant counsel for discipline.

Glass, 49, had his license to practice law suspended in late February 2021, weeks before he resigned his job as Dodge County attorney on March 1, 2021. He later served more than seven months in federal prison after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of civil rights conspiracy.

Glass had pleaded guilty to the lesser charge in November after he originally faced two federal felony counts of cyberstalking.

Glass was first elected county attorney in 2011. He was accused of a litany of allegations in relation to claims he harassed and cyberstalked an Iowa man who was reportedly having a sexual relationship with Glass’ estranged wife in 2020.

After a federal investigation that saw FBI agents conducting surveillance of Glass and months of court hearings, he took a plea deal from the U.S. Justice Department in late 2022, which led to his guilty plea and eventual federal prison sentence.
